GB Group is a market-leading provider of insurance software to major UK and international firms.
Having decided that its tired 1980s-built office on Chester Business Park no longer matched GB Group’s brand and way of working, a decision was made to move the officeto new premises.
We completed test fit plans of various buildings before The Foundation was chosen for the relocation, and provided full interior design consultancy services, tender drawingsand site support. Project management was provided by JLL, and mechanical and electrical consultancy by Crookes Walker Consulting. The fit out was completed by ADT Workplace.
GB Group was looking for an interior to contrast with the drab and outdated design of the original office. We used their secondary brand palette to create a lively and modern ground floor workspace, utilising colour and a mixture of themed meeting rooms to encourage staff to think creatively.
Scope of works:
Chester Business Park
The central atrium area includes a variety of meeting, relaxation and catering settings. We chose a natural theme in this area, in order to create a contrast with the functional surrounding workspaces.
We designed the first floor meeting suite using the primary brand palette in order to create a corporate look and feel for this area. The central business lounge and adjacent meeting rooms are designed to fulfil a variety of requirements, with the two largest opening up to provide a seminar facility for up to 50 people.
The ‘wow factor’ certainly works with attracting new employees. We quite frequently hear the comment – “I’ve always wanted to work in a place like this”. Our biannual staff satisfaction survey has shown that morale in the Chester office remains high and, despite the improvements being in-situ for nearly a year, the positive feeling hasn’t worn off. The look and feel of the design and functionality of the building has been so well received that it is now being replicated globally, across GBG’s eighteen other offices.’
