Briefing

It's all about you

The key to any successful project is to accurately interpret your brief. A large part of our design approach involves fact finding in the early stages so we have a clear understanding of your needs. The information you provide to us is reflected back in documents of several types to allow you to review and update your requirements. Your initial brief may change as the project progresses and our flexible approach means we can respond and accommodate these changes as they arise. There may be several iterations before the final brief is agreed.

Our thorough briefing process allows us to fully engage with your internal project team. We complete in-depth interviews with key members of staff and carefully document your requirements to ensure that we fully understand the things that are important to make your business work, including operational changes, expansion plans and important inter-departmental links.

The briefing sessions capture your practical requirements including, storage, equipment and workstations alongside general requirements for meeting, breakout and ancillary areas. Our experience in delivering successful workplaces allows us to advise and make recommendations based on the information we gather.

The initial gathering of information may be expanded to included a time utilisation study (TUS) of your existing workplace to establish how many desks are occupied throughout the day or week. This piece of work is essential if you are considering rationalisation of your existing working practices, and possibly the introduction of agile working, giving your staff the choice of where and how they work.

If you would like your staff to feel engaged in the relocation or refurbishment process we are able to provide an on-line feedback survey. This feedback will give you accurate information of how your staff feel about their existing work environment and their aspirations for their new workspace.
